My last journal entry was over a year ago. That's pretty sad. So lets change that. I have been working at LEGO for the past 5 months building large scale models. The biggest thing we did this last year was Bilbo's home from "The Hobbit", Bag End, made entirely out of LEGO bricks. It was a very exciting project to be a part of. Along with that I've also had the privilege of doing some concept work and story boards plus lots of building with some very talented people. So far a great experience.
Here's a short vid about the construction of Bag End. Two months of my life condensed into a brief couple of minutes but well worth it. Oh yeah, I show up a few times in the vid...
no...my name is Nathan, like my DA page says, but to answer your second question: I'm scattered throughout the video but you get a good look at me at 1:45. I'm the dude with the dark hair trying to act like I'm being adviced.
No two people get in the same way. Some simply applied for a job and worked their way into designing. Others came through a local temp agency because the shop needed people to build models and eventually stayed on. I happened to know someone that worked there. It's a very unique environment.
