I painted this directly in Photoshop CS2 without a drawing first. I was doing a drawing for it but I felt that I was loosing the dynamic that I wanted. So I just winged it on the computer and here is the result.
Please, any C+C is most welcomed!

(EDIT #1- increased canvass size. added fist and more of the arms in order to better balance the left side.)

I think that golems are difficult to realize, because of difficulty to represent strength. That is obviously not a difficulty for you. Great work.

As everyone else has been saying, this is a truly marvelous piece, and it has definitely given me a few ideas for a golem design I'm working on for a game at the moment, so kudos to you for a very simple, but great design!

I only have one nit-picky thing that the others haven't pointed out already, and that is the left hand of the golem: I can't really tell what's "wrong" with it but it just seems a bit off, and I think it has something to do with the rotation of it. Rather than looking directly at the knuckles like at the present, maybe if the hand was turned slightly inwards, so we see more of the tops of the knuckles and the top of the hand as well?

Just a thought.

Brilliant work!
